WHY TRAVEL?

Written on November 30th, on my way from Norway to Ireland.

Why travel? Why spend all your money and time going places that make you feel uncomfortable or like a fish out of the water? Why do people yearn to get out and explore? Is it just to escape from their every day life? Maybe.

I can’t speak for everyone, but for me it’s because I love learning how different places impact people differently. Weather, language, religious practices – all of these make up a place and affects people in different ways. I can’t get enough of seeing the way people live – how similar or different it may be from my way of life. I will continue to travel to learn empathy and create a global perspective. I am so grateful for the places that I’ve been, and I’m extremely excited about the places I have yet to see!
